Some companies come and go, but the best ones move with the times, build on their history, lead the market in terms of professionalism and provide a consistently high level of service. At Brady Insurance, we feel that is where we set our sights.
Brady Insurance was founded in 1959 by Jane’s (our MD) parents, so at heart we are a family business and we continue to be in how we behave with our customers and how our team are one big family.
A bit about our founders
Joe & Kathleen Brady set up Brady Insurance in September 1959 from a small office in Elphin, Co. Roscommon to which their family home was attached. It was a traditional business and insurance was transacted in the traditional ways of the times; first by letter, then telex, memo, fax and finally in the early 2000's by email and online. Joe & Kathleen were visionaries and ran a very tight and efficient business with customer relationships at the core. Joe was a founder member of National Insurance Brokers Association (a precursor to IBA which is now Brokers Ireland) and was involved in every aspect of promoting professionalism in the broking industry. In the 1960's they opened up in Carrick on Shannon where our HQ remains today.
Over the years
Since those early days, the company has had many amazing clients and brilliant staff who have stayed with us for varying periods, all of whom added to the organisation and hopefully learned a lot in the process. In Brady's everyone is encouraged to take ownership and act with the highest professional standards - we hope our clients feel that they have a person they can call at the other end of the phone who knows them and their situation.
What we are most proud of is that our teams have won broking awards, served on numerous insurance industry bodies and are always at the cold-face of change and improvement in our industry.
The company established a Polish department back in 2008 and have a long tradition of providing Polish language insurance services to our Polish clientele which has grown and progressed well since that date. We also have a strong insurance specialisms in the following areas: Construction, Leisure & Hospitality, Events, Motor Insurance, Schools & Education, Sports and Not for Profit organisations. Brady Insurance are a general broker and can do every type of insurance and over our 62+ years trading have developed a strong reputation and, more importantly, the relationships to get things done for our customers.
In 2012 Brady Insurance branched out into the wholesale market by setting up Eventinsure which has subsequently grown and evolved. In 2017 we rebranded our wholesale division which is Brady Underwriting. This division delivers insurance products direct to the public via Eventinsure.ie and also to the broker market through our own proprietary platform Brady Underwriting. This part of the business continues to grow and provide top-class products to Irish consumers. In 2015 we set up an office in Dublin to continue on our journey of growth and providing services nationally.
In 2019 we proudly celebrated our 60th year in business and marked the occasion with many initiatives, such as refurbishing our building, developing new online services and a visit from An Taoiseach Leo Varadker. Since that milestone Bradys expanded the team, the products, and continue to innovate.
Exciting Changes in 2021
In August 2021, Brady Insurance was partially acquired by Coverys European Holdings (CEH). CEH are an insurance agency platform & the partnership brings Brady Insurance into a network of European MGAs who are also part of the CEH family. This exciting development will help Brady Insurance remain at the forefront of Irish broking and insurance wholesaling.
Our Company is still managed by directors Jane Brady & Claire Dumbrell, who continue to grow the business by expanding into new areas of insurance.
Our First Acquisition in 2022
Loftus Insurance has been a broker on the other side of the shannon from Brady Insurance for 20 years. On Feb 28th 2022, Brady Insurance acquired the company to further strenghten our ranks and bring both companies together under one banner. Liam Loftus one of the original two founder, his brother Shane having stepped away some time ago, will remain on with his team and together we plan to build a formidable brokerage in the region that serves customer locally and nationally.
